This project is an intelligent, software driven bench testing tool that is a combination of a multi-channel Digital Voltmeter (DVM), a Digital Ammeter and can also provide a number of independent voltage reference sources.
As well as being a useful addition to my workbench this project is my entry in the Brisbane Makes competition and needs to be completed by the 27th of July, 2013.
My goal is to build a self enclosed device with a touchscreen interface and the ability to be controlled remotely via a bluetooth connection. The following electrical interfaces will be provided:
4 voltage inputs with a range of 0 to 24V. * 2 current inputs with a range of 0 to 2A. * 2 voltage reference outputs with a range of 0 to 12V and a maximum load of 20mA per channel.
All channels are software controlled - measurements and outputs can be triggered on change of state of any channel and some minimal oscilloscope like functions will also be available.
The detailed design is still very much a work in progress - this page will be updated as it changes over time and experiments pass (or fail). Posts related to the project can be found on this page (also available as an RSS feed).
